Position : Supine, arms tucked, Bed turned 90 degrees
Time : 1-2 hours (average)
Blood Loss : Low (10-50 ml)
Post-op Pain : Minimal (0-3)
Maintenance Paralytic : None for the awake technique - a paralyzed patient cannot do the neurological exam. Intubating dose only on conversion.
Considerations : Off-site, Fluoroscopy / Xray, Arterial line, Anticoagulation / Antiplatelet Therapy
