Time: 30-60 min (short)
Blood Loss: Very Low (5-10 ml)
Post-op Pain: Minimal (1-3)
Maintenance Paralytic: No

The Surgery

Urethral slings are placed in women with stress incontinence. The urethra is lifted with a sling and sutured to the abdominal wall. This adds additional pressure to the urethra which aids in urinary retention.
