This course walks nurse anesthesiologists through the physiology of labor pain across each stage of labor, how it impacts maternal and fetal physiology, and what that means for real-time decision-making. You’ll compare neuraxial, systemic, peripheral nerve block, and non-pharmacologic strategies, with a practical focus on dosing, mechanisms of action, and administration of commonly used neuraxial agents. By the end, you’ll be better equipped to tailor labor analgesia plans that optimize comfort, safety, and outcomes for both mother and baby.
