Position : Supine, arms tucked, head slightly extended, Bed turned 90 degrees
Time : 1-2 hours (average)
Blood Loss : Low (10-50 ml)
Post-op Pain : Minimal (0-3)
Maintenance Paralytic : Depends on the ventilation plan: full paralysis if the airway is controlled, none if spontaneous ventilation is preserved.
Considerations : Airway Fire Risk, Arterial line, Fluoroscopy / Xray, One-Lung Ventilation / Lung Isolation, Mechanical Circulatory Support
